      It doesn’t seem possible that we are once again at the end of another camping season. But we do have a program of winter fixtures to see us through until the 2012 season starts.

 

       The Halloween get together will be upon us when you receive this newsletter but we still have the DA Dinner on the 19^th November. Followed by the Christmas card swap at the beginning of December.

 

     We start the New Year off with a Sausage and Mash supper and then, before you know it, the 2012 camping season will be upon us.        

 

       Especially for those hardy souls who like to camp in the chilly February air, we have the brass monkey meet. Next year the Easter meet will be extended over the holiday period to give us a longer meet.

CONDOLENCES

 

Our condolences go out to Keith, Val and their families as Keith’s  dad passed away suddenly on 27th October.

 

Our condolences also go out to Chris, Derrick, Helen and Mark and their families as Brian Froude passed away on 28th October.

 

Brian’s funeral will take place at Enfield Crematorium on 19th November at 2.15pm.

CHAIRMANS PITCH  

   

 

Dear Campers,

 

What a great season we have had this year, some of our meets have been so well attended we have struggled to get everyone in.

 

Although camping is over we still have a few social events through the winter. Our Halloween evening is nearly upon us and I hope everyone had a great time. Not to forget the card swap in December and the sausage and mash in February.

 

Speaking to our sites officer she has told me we have a couple of new sites for next season; Capel Manor and Mole Hall Farm. A few of our members went to Capel Manor with East Essex DA last month. We were very impressed with the rally field, it was surrounded by beautiful gardens and after a lovely stroll we ended up at the delightful café and restaurant.

 

The 2012 sites list will be out next month, please put your names down to steward. We do need more stewards, if you want to know what is involved please come and talk to me or a committee member. If you have trouble getting there early to open up we are lucky enough to have a few retired campers who are very willing to help out.

 

Remember if you steward then you pay cost price for the fees.

 

As Val is away for a month there will be no January Scene and Heard, therefore remember to put in your Christmas and New Year wishes this month to Val.
