Children’s Meet, Brookfields Farm

This weekend was run by the CCY and was funded through CCY funds.

We had 5 adult units,  six children, one baby and 5 CCY attending. As Helen, Mark, Val and myself only took over as youth Leaders this year, we didn’t have  time to promote this weekend as much as we would  have hoped to. However, I can honestly say that all those that attended had a wonderful weekend.  With games for the children throughout Saturday, plus a BBQ in the evening, the smiles and fun that was had, by the adults, (plus the children)  made this weekend truly memorable.

When the landowner and people camping adjacent to the site commented  on how much they enjoyed watching the children having fun and how well behaved they were, everybody there should take this as a huge compliment. In fact two units who camp there most  weekends felt it was an honour to be able to watch and hopefully help judge some events next year, as they were asking when we are camping there next.

A VERY big thank you to the CCY for their help, Helen and Mark for their help, especially for the BBQ, all the adults who attended and supported this weekend and, of course, the children for making this such a worthwhile meet.

For those that have never been to this site before, it has a huge, cut field, especially for  rallies, friendly landowners, toilets and  for those that are interested, there is the “secret”  nuclear bunker you can visit near here.

DARRYL

BROOKFIELDS

We had a great weekend . On Friday we collected site fees. On Saturday we all set up the

games and had fun in doing this. We played all sorts of games and the little ones joined in.

We all helped do the barbeque  but I had to go to work but it sounded like everyone

enjoyed  it and they saved me some garlic bread. Just before the barbeque we had a painting

competition and there were some very good artists.

Sunday we woke up to good weather. We all met up for coffee morning at which I made my first speech. I would like to thank Darryl, Helen and Mark for organising it and thank you  to everyone who came.
